Oak Park man arrested for possession of methamphetamine

On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m. troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Houghton Lake Post and a deputy from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle on Fulton Street in Grayling Township. The driver of the vehicle, 53-year-old Jon Heath Maher from Oak Park, had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. During the arrest, troopers located two sets of black double-edged non-folding throwing knives and multiple small plastic containers inside the vehicle. Two of the containers had a white crystallized residue, which tested positive for methamphetamine. Maher was lodged in the Crawford County Jail.

Maher was arraigned in the 46th District Court in Crawford County on one count Possession Methamphetamine less than 25 grams, one count Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Operating without Security/Insurance. His bond was set at $15,000 10% cash surety. His next scheduled court appearance is on November 26, 2024, at 2:00 p.m
