Busy night and early morning for Sheriff's Office

Driver charged with trying to elude arrest

The followiing release was issued on the CHippewa County Sheriff Department's website today (Aug. 3):

The Chippewa County Sheriff's Office responded to a crash in the Kincheloe area just after midnight. The investigation resulted in the arrest of a local female for High BAC Drunk Driving. (SUPER DRUNK) There were no reported injuries.

The suspect will be arraigned in the 91st Dist Court at some point once she is no longer intoxicated.

FLEE AND ELUDE ARREST

Early this morning a motorcycle was clocked on radar going 97 mph south bound on Riverside Drive south of Sault Ste Marie. The Deputy Sheriff activated the emergency lights and pulled over to stop the motorcycle. The driver then accelerated and was paced well over 100mph. The road at the time of this incident was wet from rain that had moved thru earlier.

The motorcycle was stopped at an intersection a short time later without incident. The driver was a local man who was arrested and lodged in the CCCF.

2- Reckless Driving

3- 97/55 speeding citation

4- Unregistered motorcycle

5- No cycle Endorsement

The motorcycle was a Honda CBR 1000, Dark Gray with no registration plate attached.

The driver will be arraigned in the 91st Dist court.
