MyMichigan Health announces Kevin Kalchik, C.P.A., has been named president of MyMichigan Medical Center Sault effective Friday July 1, 2022. Kalchik joined the Medical Center in 2004 as the chief financial officer and currently serves as the Community Health Access Coalition (CHAC) Board President. He resides in Sault Ste. Marie with his family.
The Medical Center’s current president and CEO, David Jahn, is retiring after 16 years with the organization. Under Jahn’s leadership the organization experienced growth and improvements in quality and financial viability. Jahn lead the Medical Center toward becoming a High Reliability Organization (HRO) while working diligently to expand specialty services in Sault Ste. Marie. Under Jahn’s leadership, the Medical Center added a new Emergency Department, obtained a surgical robot, added a Cancer Care Center, and affiliated with MyMichigan Health.
In a communication to all staff earlier this week, Jahn shared “My retirement plans have been developed over the last two years and I’m confident that Mr. Kalchik is ready to lead MyMichigan Medical Center Sault,” Jahn said. “My leaving the Medical Center is somewhat bittersweet. While I do look forward to retirement, I am also sad that I am leaving such a great team. I know that MyMichigan Medical Center Sault will continue to provide high-quality care for our community.”
Kalchik is appreciative of Jahn’s leadership and preparation for his new role.
“Over the past 16 years David has been my mentor and I have learned a lot from him to prepare me for my new role,” Kalchik said. “I am ready to make the transition and lead MyMichigan Medical Center Sault through the remainder of our exciting integration process and long into the future.”
