Just before 5:30 p.m., a semi-truck owned by Helms Transportation lost its tandem trailer while exiting Circle K gas station on W. Portage Ave.
Anytime Towing was first on site securing the scene. Sault Ste. Marie City Police arrived moments later.
Just after 6 p.m., all lanes of W. Portage Ave. in that area were closed so the scene could be cleared.
Portage Avenue was reopened at around 6:30 p.m.
