***IMPORTANT NOTICE TO CHIPPEWA COUNTY RESIDENTS***
Chippewa County Central Dispatch was just advised that a local phone company will be conducting maintenance on fiber/cable lines on 9/23/22 through 6am the same date. This will cause 911 outages in portions of the following Townships during this time:
Bay Mills
Chippewa
Hulbert
Kinross (Western Portions)
Superior
Trout Lake (Northern Portions)
Whitefish
The outages will be "rolling" as the system upgrades are made across the region during the service window time frame.
In the event of an Emergency, attempt to make your 911 calls by both land line and cell phone. If you can not make it through at that time, proceed to your closest EMS/Fire Department to report the emergency. These locations will be staffed during the outage.
Our dispatch will be receiving notifications throughout the night regarding the process and outages.
Any changes in the time frame of this operation will be posted here.
