Amelia Kiley age 96, formerly of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, January 14, 2023. She was born on March 27, 1926 and is the last surviving child of Dominic and Marietta Stabile.

Amelia was born and raised in the Soo and graduated from Sault High School. She worked as a secretary for the United States Federal Government until her marriage to John J. Kiley. They were married June 16th, 1956, at St. Mary’s Church where she was a member of the church choir. She was also a member of the Christopher Columbus Hall and the beloved Mary Wood Chorus. Amelia was a lifelong volunteer and active member of the community. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend to many.

Amelia is survived by her daughter, Jojon Tamir, son in law Younes Tamir of Hoboken, New Jersey and grandchildren Sean and Michael Tamir.

Amelia was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Kiley; parents Dominic and Marietta Stabile; siblings, John Stabile, Tony Stabile, Olga Kirkpatrick, Lena McDowell, Grace (Corky)Tisdale and Joseph Stabile

A memorial service will be held in June date and time to be determined at Holy Name of St Mary’s Catholic Church in Sault Ste. Marie.

Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Sault Ste. Marie.
