It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Jane Louise (Sinclair) Doty.

Jane was born on May 18, 1954, in Stanton, Michigan. She was the second child born to Dale and Betty Sinclair. She was a Taurus, and her birthstone was an Emerald, green like her favorite color.

Our mom grew up playing the accordion and enjoyed playing music as a child in her little hometown band with her family. Music was always cathartic to her throughout her life. She graduated from Central Montcalm High School in Stanton, Michigan. Already a wife and mother, she entered the workforce wearing many different hats over the years. Mom was most proud of her business, J.D. Kennels, which gave her the opportunity to do what she loved most in life; helping others and their pets. After being a secretary for twenty years, she retired and went through schooling to become a certified dog trainer. As a business owner, she met so many wonderful people and their “fur babies.” Our mom loved all of you so much and would always say, “ I have the best customers.”

Mom lived in the Upper Peninsula for thirty-eight years and was very proud of the house that she turned into a home. She always had an open-door policy… and Boy, if those walls could talk!

Mom spent her free time doing puzzles, gardening, reading crime novels, and hunting for a good bargain. She collected angels and butterflies, always looking to expand her collection. She was an amazing seamstress. Every one of us kids, at some point or another, had her hem our pants, just another small way Mom showed how much she loved her family. She was so many things to different people: a mother, grandmother, a listening ear, and a good friend; she will be greatly missed.

Jane is survived by her five children, Todd (Carrie) Miller, Travis (Jill) Miller, Trenton Miller, Lisa (Paul) Trumbley, and Amanda (David) Driver; ten grandchildren, Tate, Cole, Taylor, Mitchel, Lauren, Ryanne, Andrea, and Ellie; siblings, Karen, Dennis, Laurie, and Greg; and beloved pets, Lanie, Lucy, and Annie.

Those who went before her to get Heaven ready are her parents, Dale and Betty; brother, Gene, and aunt, Patricia.

In closing, us kids would like to thank all of the people in this small little town who loved our Mom unconditionally.

And to Mom, “ Thank you. Thank you for all the big things but most of all, thank you for all the little things you did for us that nobody witnessed; they meant the most. And yes, when the wind blows, we do hear you still saying, “Oh, my ever lovin',” every once in a while. We love you to the moon and back.

XOXO

Until we meet again.”

The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,

he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
