Wendy Marie Zimmerman-Beaudoin, 52, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2022, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with her parents at her side. She was born July 12, 1969, in Sault Ste Marie, to Pat and Nancy (Couvier) Zimmerman.
Wendy graduated from Sault High School with the Class of 1987. She held many jobs, starting with Lynn Auto while still in high school. She owned Up North Title and Escrow Agency for a time and was currently Executive Director of the City of Sault Ste Marie Housing. She served as City Commissioner. Wendy made friends everywhere she went.
Wendy was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Elks Lodge. She liked going to the I-500 Snowmobile Race and working in the parking shack with her friends. She enjoyed family time at a NASCAR race every summer. She also had fun times with special friends at Lions and Tigers games. She looked forward to the end of the workday "Boat-Thirty" to go out in their pontoon boat. She would just cruise or fish, it didn't matter if she didn't catch any fish. Spring was "Dirt Therapy" in her parents' greenhouse and then waiting for everything to grow so she could fill her yard with flowers.
Wendy is survived by her son, Andrew, the light of her life of whom she was so very proud; her parents, Pat and Nancy; sister, Michelle Zimmerman, whom she called "Mosey"; her fiancé, Steven Zoerner and his daughter, Taylor; lifelong friend, Cheryl Wilson Stevens; her goofy golden doodle, Jack, her "Bubba" always waiting at the door for her at 5:00; step children, Brandon Beaudoin and Bruce E. Beaudoin, Brooke Boger, and their children. Her "Wisconsin Family" Uncle Chuck and Aunt Ter Vassar; cousins, Scott Shumbarger, Shelly Shumbarger, and son Levi, Shane (Crystal) Shumbarger, children Brett and Bella; Mindy Rataczak and children, Coalten and Zoey; aunts and uncles, John "Chief" and Ada Zimmerman and Mike and Sara Zimmerman; cousins, Dale Zimmerman, Mary (Dennis) Boedigheimer and son Ian, Heather Zimmerman, Spencer (Kris) Zimmerman and Tori, Charity Zimmerman and Michaela, James Zimmerman and family, Frank Zimmerman, Tracy Baron, and Corlie Leonard and families.
Wendy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Tom and Theresa Couvier and stepfather Ray Paquin, Fred and Onota Zimmerman, and very special friend, Suzanne Gable.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 9, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sault Ste. Marie. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM that same day with Father Romeo Capella officiating.
Burial will be in Oaklawn Chapel Gardens in Bruce Township.
