On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at approximately 11:40 p.m. troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Traverse City Post stopped a vehicle for an equipment moving violation on S M-37 Highway near Red School Road in Blair Township.

The driver, a 45-year-old man from Kingsley, had two civil warrants for his arrest stemming from a child support case. The vehicle he was driving did not have a registration plate and there was no insurance on the vehicle.

His passenger, a 41-year-old Kingsley woman, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

Both the driver and his passenger were arrested and lodged in the Grand Traverse County Jail pending arraignment.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.
