Onaway man turns himself in, facing criminal sexual conduct, other charges

Police say the intiial investigation began when the man went to police to say he believed he may have said and done something wrong

The Michigan State Police (MSP) Gaylord Post is announcing the arrest of 47-year-old Oscar Bert Hilliker of Onaway, for second degree criminal sexual conduct and other charges.

The investigation began earlier this month when Hilliker came to the MSP Gaylord Post saying he needed to speak with a trooper. Hilliker believed he may have said and done something wrong. He told the trooper what he had done with a minor and that he had provided them with marijuana. The victim was interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center in Alpena.

A report submitted to the Cheboygan County Prosecutor’s Office and an arrest warrant was authorized on April 16. Hilliker turned himself in at the Cheboygan County Jail later that day.

Hilliker was arraigned in the 89th District Court in Cheboygan County for one count criminal sexual conduct second degree, one count accosting children for immoral purposes, and one count contributing to the delinquency of children. He was given a $20,000 PR bond. His next scheduled court appearance is on May 10, 2024, at 10:30 a.m.
