Traffic stop leads to court date on charges of manufacture, delivery of meth

CHEBOYGAN COUNTY, MI. – On Friday, March 31, detectives from Straits Area Narcotics Enforcement and deputies from the Cheboygan County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the city of Cheboygan.

A search of the vehicle produced approximately one ounce of methamphetamine.

The driver of the vehicle, 35-year-old Nicole Jane Mahar, was arrested and lodged on a probation violation.

As a result of the traffic stop, a residential search warrant was executed at a home on N C Street in Cheboygan on March 31.

Detectives searched the home and seized a large amount of methamphetamine, packaging materials, and a digital scale.

During the search warrant, 35-year-old Nathaniel Orr IV was arrested for delivery of methamphetamine, PWID methamphetamine, and maintaining a drug house.

Detectives seized approximately 193 grams of methamphetamine as a result of the traffic stop and residential search warrant. The street value of drugs seized is approximately $19,000. 

Orr was arraigned in the 89th District Court in Cheboygan on two counts of delivery/manufacture methamphetamine, one count of possession of methamphetamine, and one count of maintaining a drug house. He was given a $100,000 cash surety bond. His next scheduled court appearance is on April 13. 

Mahar was arraigned in the 89th District Court in Cheboygan on one count delivery/manufacture methamphetamine, and one count of maintaining a drug house. She was given a $50,000 cash surety bond. Her next scheduled court appearance is on April 17.
