50 years of Sault High Hockey celebrated with Olympian Abby Roque

Ann Lasceski drops puck to begin final hockey game in Sault High Hockey 50-year Anniversary Alumni Game to collect money for Sault hockey, Marcus Andary, Mike Ellis, and Aaron Lasecki scholarships

Sault High Hockey 50th Anniversary Alumni Games gathered together players from the 70s and 80s, 90s and 00s, and 10s to present at Puller Arena this afternoon.

2022 Winter Olympian Silver Medalist Abby Roque faced off for the blue team against CJ Wilkins in white during a ceremonial puck dropped by Ann Lasecki, the mother of Aaron Lasecki, to begin the final game. 

All event proceeds will go to Blue Devils hockey, as well as the Aaron Lesecki, Marcus Andary, and Mike Ellis scholarships.

All were former Sault High Blue Devil Hockey players. 

Aaron Connor Lasecki, 25, of Sault Ste. Marie passed away during a Brimley boating accident on Aug. 20, 2021. 

Marcus Andary, 21, of Sault Ste. Marie died on Dec. 18, 2011 in St. Paul, MN.

Michael "Chubba" Ellis, 54, passed away on Dec. 14 of 2020. 

Chippewa County Community Foundation Co-directors Steve Habusta and Debbie Jones, along with 2016 team captain Kyler Reattoir and Hunter Krause helped organize the Sault High Hockey 50th Anniversary Alumni Games. 

Dinner will be held at the Christopher Columbus Italian-American Society at 6 p.m. for $35 per person.
