On Friday, July 14, the Michigan Department of State (MDOS), along with state and community partners will host a free Road to Restoration clinic in Sault Ste. Marie for the first time, to help eligible drivers with suspended licenses restore their driving privileges. Pre-registration for the clinic is open at Michigan.gov/R2R, with many slots still available. Walk-ins will also be accepted between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Expert staff and volunteer attorneys will meet one-on-one with visitors to the clinic, review their case, and advise on their next steps to get back behind the wheel. Residents can find more information and register for the clinic at Michigan.gov/R2R.
The clinics do not provide DUI/OWI expungement services and license reinstatement is not guaranteed.
WHAT: Sault Ste. Marie Road to Restoration Clinic
WHO: Michigan Department of State Staff, Department of Attorney General staff, DTE Energy, Michigan Works! Upper Peninsula, other volunteers
WHEN: Friday, July 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Walk-ins will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
WHERE: Lake Superior State University, Student Activity Center, 1000 Meridian St., Sault Ste. Marie
Clinic attendees are also encouraged to purchase a copy of their driving record for $12 either at the clinic or online at Michigan.gov/SOS.
Road to Restoration clinics are being held in partnership with DTE Energy, Miller Canfield, Detroit Justice Center, Michigan Association of United Ways, and Michigan 2-1-1, as well as location partners.
Michiganders who believe they may qualify to have their license reinstated or who have a question about their driving history can get more information or sign up for an upcoming clinic at Michigan.gov/R2R.
