Bethel Lodge #358, under the Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons of Michigan, has donated eight bicycles to young students in Sault Ste. Marie and Rudyard schools, reinforcing their commitment to supporting local communities and education.

This donation is part of the Michigan Masonic Bikes for Books program, which encourages elementary-aged students to meet and exceed their schools' reading goals.

Freemasonry, the world's oldest fraternity, is an organization dedicated to fostering personal growth and intellectual development. As such, they place great importance on the pursuit of knowledge.

"We're ecstatic to support early readers in achieving their academic goals, and we believe this initiative is a wonderful way to incentivize learning," said a representative of Bethel Lodge #358.

The Bikes for Books program is a reading incentive run by various Masonic Lodges around the state in conjunction with the Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation.

As part of the program, new bikes and helmets are awarded to local school students. Contributions from local merchants and donors to the program bolster the funds, thus amplifying the positive impact on the community.

Students who meet their school's reading goals are entered into a draw for a chance to win these bikes and helmets. Bethel Lodge has run the program locally for many years and would very much like to expand it.

To sign up your school for the next academic year, please visit www.soomasons.org or find Bethel Masonic Lodge on Facebook.

The Freemasons at Bethel Lodge #358 look forward to continuing their support for the children of Sault Ste. Marie and Rudyard schools, helping to foster a love of reading and a thirst for knowledge in the next generation.

Bethel Lodge #358 is a lodge under the jurisdiction of The Grand Lodge of Michigan. They have been active continuously in Sault Ste. Marie since 1882 . It's an organization dedicated to promoting self-improvement, the pursuit of knowledge, and community involvement. They're actively involved in numerous charitable initiatives in Sault Ste.
