Community Action Agency Resource Fair — and free haircuts — at Avery Square today
Chippewa, Luce, Mackinaw Community Action Agency (CLMCAA) has invited Chippewa County residents to its first-ever Resource Fair at Avery Square today, Friday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m..
 
"Need a free haircut?" CLMCAA Director Joe Nolan asked. "Come check out our Resource Fair at Avery Square. Many local agencies have partnered to inform you on services they provide. This is a great opportunity for you or someone you know to receive any of the multiple resources available in our area that you might not know about. There will be interactive booths as well as handouts for all ages. Parents, make sure to stop in and learn more about our diaper distribution program. Free diapers available onsite for those who qualify."
 
Participating resource agencies include: United Way, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, CCHD EUP Home Health and Hospice,
Medilodge, CCHD Public Health, USDA Rural Development, Families Against Narcotics (FAN), SAIL Disability Network, Clark's Construction, Upper Peninsula Health Plan, Clark’s Construction, Soo Co-op Credit Union, Michigan Works, Total Outlook, Roll the Veg, Upper Peninsula Commission for Area Progress (UPCAP), Diane Peppler Resource Center, Sault Housing Commission, Roll the Veg, Sault Tribe Behavioral Health, Bins Ahoy, Superior Insurance, and Anishnabek Community and Family Service.
 
Yes, free haircuts are included with the visit.
 
Avery Square is located at 510 Ashmun Street. Ashmun Street is currently under construction. CLMCAA has available parking around the building with access to all three entrances.
