Petoskey man facing drug and gun charges

Detectives from SANE recovered ketamine, fentanyl, psilocybin, Alprazolam, and several firearms

A 40-year-old man faces drug and gun charges following the execution of a search warrant by Straits Area Narcotics Enforcement (SANE) detectives in Petoskey, Mich. 

James Malleis of Petoskey was arraigned Thursday in the 90th District Court in Emmet County on one count possession controlled substance (narcotics – cocaine less than 25 grams), two counts possession controlled substance (non-narcotic), one count possession controlled substance (Schedule 5 LSD), one count using a computer to commit a crime, and seven counts felony firearm, a news release said.

During the execution of the search warrant March 17 at a residence on Howard Road detectives from SANE recovered ketamine, fentanyl, psilocybin, Alprazolam, and several firearms, the release added.

Malleis was given a $10,000 cash surety bond. His next scheduled court appearance is on April 26, 2023, at 2 p.m.
