Work on M-123 to resume later this month

MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing about $2 million to replace a culvert on M-123 over Otto/Brant Creek in Luce County. This multi-year project includes scour countermeasures, riprap, guardrail, signs, and approach work. The final stage will include shoulder rebuilding, removal of a temporary bypass road and restoration work.

Estimated end date: Friday, June 7, 2024

Traffic restrictions: One lane of alternating traffic will be maintained on M-123 using traffic signals. A lane width restriction of 11 feet will be in place during the project.

Jobs numbers: Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 24 jobs.

Safety benefit: This project will increase safety for motorists and extend the lifespan of the roadway.
