SAULT STE MARIE – The sun is out, temperatures are rising, and we are ready to hit the golf course. Join United Way of the Eastern Upper Peninsula for the 17th Annual Sven Heikkinen Memorial Golf Tournament. The tournament will be held at Wild Bluff Golf Course in Brimley on Friday, May 24 with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

Since 2007, United Way of the EUP and the family of Sven Heikkinen have come together to honor the life of an outstanding man at an event he enjoyed. As a Board Member of United Way of the EUP, Sven consistently supported the community in which he lived and worked. He understood the importance of investing in our EUP communities and supporting those most vulnerable.

Sven’s legacy is one of passion for service. Thanks to his family, and continental, where Sven worked, we continue his legacy of service by raising money to support our EUP residents through this fun-filled tournament.

Don’t let the word “tournament” discourage you. We encourage all skill levels to participate in the day of fun. You never know who could win bragging rights. Not only will there be a game of golf, we will also have a raffle with prizes donated from many local businesses. Teams must be registered before the event. Reach out to Kenzi Nottingham at 906-632-3700 ext. 1 or [email protected]
