Sault wrestlers take part in two weekend tournaments

Sault Youth Wrestling took part in NEMWA in Cadillac and MYWAY in Evart

Sault Youth Wrestling competed in two tournaments this past weekend including NEMWA in Cadillac and MYWAY in Evart.

Sault City Youth Wrestling placed 9th out of 24 teams at the Cadillac NEMWA Youth Wrestling Tournament.

NEMWA - Cadillac tournament results:

Travis Pyle 3-2 (4th), Emmet Rogers 2-2 (4th), Wyatt Rader 2-1 (2nd), Guy Pyle III 1-2 (DNP), Jackson Minta 2-2 (4th), and Drew Burtt 2-1 (2nd).

MYWAY - Evart tournament results:

Easton Anderson 2-2 (3rd), Kaysen Hendrick 0-2 (DNP), Emmet Rogers 3-0 (1st), Talia Klozotsky 2-2 (3rd), Brayden Anderson 1-2 (DNP), Easton Hendrick 0-2 (3rd). Drew Burtt 3-0 (1st), and Kane Savoie 0-2 (2nd).

This weekend we will travel to MYWAY Atlanta to compete!  There are no NEMWA matches this week as we build for Regional next weekend.

Twenty-one teams with an expected 270 wrestlers will be traveling to the Sault to compete in a popular U.P. MYWAY Tournament to be held at the Sault Area High School on Sunday, Feb. 18. 

Bridge Brawl medals 1st - 4th place and Team Trophy for overall team with the most points.  Entry fee is $6 Adults and $3 Children.  Make sure to stop in and support youth wrestling in our region.  Concessions available all day.

Sault Youth Wrestling (501c3) promotes and supports the sport of youth wrestling in the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan at all levels as defined by MYWAY and/or NEMWA and the age levels associated with those organizations.

Our goals are to develop amateur athletes for competition, serve as a support for the wrestling sport in all Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan schools and promote good sportsmanship, give instruction in strong fundamental competitive wrestling skills, promote, and develop a good competitive spirit, develop a cohesive team unit and promote friendship and respect for others, among wrestlers and others.
