Christopher Alex Paquin, age 56, of St. Ignace, Michigan, died unexpectedly on May 18, 2024, at his home. He was born on December 27, 1967, in St. Ignace, to Ronald and Carol Jean (Shomin) Paquin.

Chris grew up in St. Ignace and graduated from LaSalle High School with the class of 1986. After graduation, he went right into the workforce and started working construction on the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. Chris also started helping his father with his commercial fishing business, since age twelve and eventually took over the family fishing licensing. Over the years, Chris worked on many projects and was ready to get started on the old Big Boy Project.

Chris was a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.

Christopher liked hanging out with his friends, and being outdoors, especially fishing, snowmobiling, golfing, and camping. He enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, and being with his dogs, Ice, Ziggie, and Ace. But above all, he loved spending time with his boys.

Chris is survived by his father and stepmother, Ronald and Molly Paquin; sons, Christopher (Lexis) Jordan and Ronald (Kristina Pashina) Paquin; grandchildren, Maylee Paquin and Joshua Wayland.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Jean Paquin; and infant sister, Marie Paquin.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at St. Ignace Tribal Community Center from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM. The Traditional Ceremony will follow at 5:00 PM.

Christopher’s final resting place will be at Wequayoc Native American Cemetery in St. Ignace Township.
