Patricia Ann Russell of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed away December 26th, 2023, at her home on Sugar Island.
She was born April 27th, 1952, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The daughter of Fern and Gertrude Russell. In August 1971, she married Victor Cekola, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother James Russell.
She worked for many years as a registered nurse in Michigan and Tennessee. She held a special place in her heart for the Borgess Labor and Delivery Nurses with whom she worked for many years.
Patty is survived by her wife of 24 years, Dr. Patricia Newhouse; brothers, Thomas Russell, David Russell; sister, Mary Kay Blocker; children, Anthony (Kimberly) Cekola, Tressa Cekola, Rosalice (Jeffrey) Hall, Jacquelyn Cekola, Thomas Cekola, Heather (Adam) Raffele, Nicholas (Joy) Newhouse and Michael Newhouse. Together she and wife Patricia Newhouse also have twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 555 Bingham Avenue, Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, on January 6, 2024, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM.
