OFFICER OF THE YEAR AWARDS:

We broke tradition and presented two Officer of the Year awards this year. Both Officers coming from our Correctional side of the house.

#1- Andy Desormeau received the first Officer of the Year Award. Desormeau started with the Office in 2000 and in 2003 went full time as a Corrections Officer.

Desormeau has recently been promoted to Corporal and is the direct supervisor of his shift.

Desormeau is also charged with ordering all the supplies keeping the facility running throughout the year.

Desormeau is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to working on the facility. Desormeau is a true leader in our Office and we THANK YOU!

#2- David P. Hall received the other Officer of the Year Award.

Hall started with our Office in 2008 and went full time in July of 2010.

Hall is a certified instructor in many areas and conducts trainings for our Corrections Officers, helping to keep them safe. Hall has been awarded the Life Saving award, for saving inmates lives, several times during his time at Chippewa County.

Hall is a hard working, dedicated Officer and we THANK YOU!

We also had several special guests including several of our VSU Advocates in attendance.

A big THANK YOU to the Elks for hosting our event. The food and service was outstanding.
