The Lake Superior State University athletic department has self-imposed a two-game suspension for men's basketball head coach Steve Hettinga in response to a secondary/level three NCAA violation, as announced by athletic director, Tory Lindley, on Tuesday. This sanction is solely related to institutional errors made during the initial NCAA eligibility certification process.
Josh Hentschel will serve as interim head coach for the Lakers' first two contests of the 2023-24 season at the Lake Erie Crossover on Nov. 10-11.
