SAULT YOUTH WRESTLING

Sault Youth Wrestling is ready to get back to the mats this season and is kicking off their annual registration in October. Youth ages 5 years to 8th grade are welcome to stop by and talk to coaches, parents, and members at the Sault Area Middle School Library starting at 5:30pm.

The registration fee this year is $125 and includes shorts and a team hoodie to wear to the matches. Additional gear such as wrestling shoes and headgear may be available to borrow, which works out great if you have children who are just starting out. Once we get closer to the tournaments, club singlets will be provided by the club with a $40 deposit. Participants will be limited to #125 members this year due to our new location at the middle school. All past and new wrestlers need to come in person to the registration night.

Venmo is available for registration, NEMWA ($20) and MYWAY ($20) fee payments; @saultyouthwrestling. Practice is planned to start November 1st. Tentative practice schedule: K-2nd Grades Mon & Wed 5:30-6:30pm, 3-4th Grades Tues & Thurs 5:30-6:30pm, 5-8th GradesMon-Friday 6:30-8pm until tournaments start then down to M-Thurs.

Sault Youth Wrestling (501c3) promotes and supports the sport of youth wrestling in the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan at all levels as defined by MYWAY and/or NEMWA and the age levels associated with those organizations. Our goals are to develop amateur athletes for competition, serve as a support for the wrestling sport in all Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan schools and promote good sportsmanship, give instruction in strong fundamental competitive wrestling skills, promote, and develop a good competitive spirit, develop a cohesive team unit and promote friendship and respect for others, among wrestlers and others.
