Chase Joseph Ford, age 28, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2022, in Kinross, Michigan, surrounded by family after a very courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Sault Ste. Marie, on May 10, 1994, and will be dearly missed by his parents Michael Ford and Heather Wilson and his siblings James, Matthew, and Megan Mendham, who looked up to their big brother.

Chase grew up in the Eastern Upper Peninsula attending Cedarville Schools and then graduating from Pickford Schools in 2012. During his high school years, he worked for Classic and Antique Boats for the Mertaugh’s. Chase then attended Bay Mills Community College before transferring to Lake Superior State University to continue working towards his Engineering Degree. During this time, he worked for Custom Technology for three years and then Advanced Auto Parts for the last four years in Sault Ste. Marie. He only had a few classes remaining to complete his degree.

Chase loved spending time with his family and his beloved dog Bentley. He enjoyed everything outdoors: hunting, traveling, skiing, and especially fishing and camping trips with his grandparents. Chase had a passion for anything that was related to engineering and was a determined worker. He will be greatly missed for his easy-going nature and sense of humor.

Chase is survived by his parents, Heather (Adam Bernhardt) Wilson and Michael (Jamie Wight) Ford; brothers, James Mendham of Kinross, and Matthew Mendham of Kinross; sister, Megan Mendham of Kinross; grandparents, Sheri Ford of Florida, and Tom and Paulette Wilson of Drummond Island, Michigan; aunts, Holly (Tim) Perkins and Jennifer Wilson; Uncle, Scott (Leanne) Ford; and cousins, Makayla, Reese, and Riley, and Taylor (Jerrod) Dillon, who was like a sister to Chase.

Chase was preceded in death by his grandfather Vern Ford; and aunt, Jennifer Ford.

Memorial services have not yet been scheduled.
