Sara relocated to Detroit in the 1950s with her family, as her father sought new opportunities in the Auto Industry. She belonged to a close-knit family of 6 siblings, and their strong family values and work ethic shaped her into the remarkable woman she became. Throughout her life, Sara excelled as a dedicated businesswoman and manager at Church's Lumber Yard. Balancing her professional pursuits with raising five accomplished children, she displayed unwavering determination and commitment.

Sara possessed a magnetic personality that effortlessly connected with people from all walks of life. Her infectious smile and gift for storytelling brought joy to those around her. Sara's steady dedication extended to her role as a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She treasured moments spent with her grandchildren, engaging in heartfelt conversations over a cup of coffee or a glass of milk. Home-cooked meals, especially those with a touch of Southern flavor, held a special place in her heart. The casino was another source of joy for her, where she could be found engrossed in the slot machines for hours on end. The song "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts held deep significance for her, resonating with her very being. Its lyrics will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones, as she wished for them to pursue their dreams and remember her eternal guidance and love.
